Christmas Tag

I love tag posts; especially a Christmas Tag post. I found this one on Love, Niamh and I really liked the questions.

What’s your favourite Christmas movie?

I have written a could of blog posts about my favourite Christmas films (1) (2) My favourite childhood Christmas film is the Grinch. I watch it every year and love it every time. Another big favourite of mine is Love Actually.

Have you ever had a white Christmas?

I cannot actually remember if we have ever had snow on Christmas. I’m 99% sure it have never actually snowed on Christmas day but there might have been a little bit from previous days. I would LOVE for it to snow on Christmas day; it would make the day even more magical.

Where do you usually spend your holiday?

Since Joe and I moved into the flat we have spent Christmas day at home, just the two of us (and Rory of course). We spend the in our pjs, eating and drinking a lot and I love it so much!. We’ve actually got quite good at cooking Christmas dinner. This year however we our spending the day with my dad’s side of the family and I cannot wait.

What’s your favourite Christmas song?

Again I have written a post about this. I do love the classic Christmas songs and you can’t help but sing along to Mariah Carrey- All I Want For Christmas Is You

Do you open any presents on Christmas eve?

In my family we always received new pjs on Christmas Eve so we always opened those. The last couple years my Mom has made Joe and I a Christmas Eve box.

What holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?

I’m looking forward to spending time with my family. My dads side of the family always get together for a meal and I am going to the Christmas Market with Joe, my Dad and my brother.

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Fake. I have never had a real tree. I would quite like to go and pick one but I prefer the look of a fake tree as they are a lot fuller.

What’s your favourite holiday food/treat/sweet?

This is a difficult question. I LOVE pigs in blankets, they are the best part of a Christmas dinner. But I also love a classic tub of celebrations or biscuits. Actually yes I have decided; my favourite holiday treat is a box of chocolate biscuits. Buffet food is also great.

Be honest. Do you prefer giving or receiving gifts?

I love buying presents for Joe. Sometimes I struggle to think of some ideas at first but then I can’t stop seeing things I want to buy him. But when it comes to buying presents for other people I really find it a bit stressful as I struggle to think of ideas for them. I don’t really like asking people what they would like. I will be honest as well; I do really enjoy receiving gifts. I enjoy seeing what people have thought for me and I like new stuff.

What’s your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

I feel like a lot of people answers would be the same. New York at Christmas looks so magical. However I would also really like to visit some Christmas Markets in Europe like Belgium. Edinburgh also looks like a lovely place to visit at Christmas

What’s the best Christmas present you’ve ever received?

I have quite bad memory for remembering presents (Sorry! that’s really bad of me) For mine and first Christmas (we had been together 5 months at this point) he bought us tickets to go and see the Lion King stage show for our 1 year anniversary. It was an amazing performance and a really thoughtful gift. At the time my mom and dad said that he was obviously planning on staying around (and he really has)

Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?

Definitely pro present wrapper. My dad and I always wrapped presents together and he showed me how to make them look really nice and neat. Joe and I always debate about who is better at wrapping presents (I think it is probably Joe but don’t let him know I said that)

What makes the holidays special for you?

During December we always have a lot of plans. My family meet up a lot more and we always make plans with our friends. I just love spending time with family and friends. It is also nice that people tend to be a lot happier.
