One of my ideas for a Christmas post was a tag. I came across this tag by two different bloggers; Andreia (https://lifemakeupstyle.wordpress.com) and Sophie Jane (https://prettylittleblogp0sts.wordpress.com)
1.What’s your favourite Christmas movie?
I’ve actually just done a whole blog post about some of my favourite Christmas films. If you’re interested you can read it here
2.Have you ever had a White Christmas?
I can’t really remember. I’m from the UK and we’re known for our bad weather but I can’t remember a year where it was properly white instead of a little bit icy here and there.
3.Where do you usually spend your holiday?
Since Joe and I moved in together two and half years ago (this is our 3rd Christmas) we have spent Christmas day at home. We like having a lazy day and just eating and drinking all day.
4.What is your favourite Christmas song?
I love all the classic Christmas songs:
I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday by Wizzard
Merry Christmas Everybody by Slade
Merry Christmas Everyone by Shakin Stevens
Last Christmas by Wham!
5.Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
In my family we get new pjs every year on Christmas Eve but last year my mom made Joe and I a Christmas Eve box that had hot chocolate, marshmallows, westie mugs, chocolates a couple other things as well inside
6.Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Dancer, Prancer, Comet, Cupid, Vixen, Blitzen and Dunder. I’ll admit I did Google to make sure but I always thought Dunder was called Donner
7.What holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?
I’m writing a separate post all about our Christmas traditions but I’m honestly just looking forward to a couple days break from work and eating a LOT of food
8.Is your Christmas tree real or fake?.
Fake. I love the idea of a going to choose a real tree but I don’t really like the look of a real tree. I love the look of a full tree and I find real tree’s to be a bit bare, but maybe that’s only some of them
9.What’s your all-time favourite holiday treat/food/sweet?
I love eating Cadbury chocolate biscuits, they are my fave. Obviously adore Christmas dinner and my favourite part is probably the pigs in blankets.
10.Be honest, do you like giving or receiving gifts better?
I’ll admit it I do love receiving gifts and I find buying gifts for people a bit stressful. I love buying gifts for people when I know what they’ll love but I really struggle trying to think of ideas sometimes. I love buying presents for Joe as he’s easy to buy for, the only problem is I end up finding too much stuff and have to stop myself from spending a ridiculous amount of money.
(Funny side story, Joe and I decided to spend half the amount we usually do this year as we are saving for a house, it was Joe’s idea and I agreed it was a good one. I have gone £2 over budget but the other day Joe admitted to me he’s spent £20 over! I think we get too excited buying each other presents)
11.What is the best Christmas present you have ever received?
I’m really struggling to think of any specific present from when I was younger. As child I was very fortunate as my parents always bought me whatever was on my list. One present I can remember and absolutely loved was from mine and Joe’s first Christmas. He bought me two tickets to see the Lion King on our anniversary weekend. It was such an amazing show.
12.What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
Like most people I love the look of New York at Christmas but I would love to go to cities like Bruges, Copenhagen, places like that as I find them so cute and festive.
13.Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?
I would call myself a pro wrapper, I make sure all the edges are neat and square. Joe and I actually make a competition out of present wrapping and he thinks he’s better than I am (ill admit he is pretty good)
14.Most memorable holiday moment?
Most memorable memory I would say is Christmas Eve when I was younger. My brother and I would get new pjs, slippers and some years a dressing gown. After opening them I would go and have a bath and my mom would warm my new pjs up for when I got out the bath. We would leave Santa a mince pie, small glass of Sherry and a carrot for Rudolph and every year we had a photo in pur new pjs holding the plate and glass.
15.What made you realise the truth about Santa?
I actually can’t remember. It was probably something along the lines of people at school saying it or just realising the idea of Santa is not very practical
16.What makes the holidays special for you?
I just love the family aspect. There’s a lot more family events and we spend a lot more time together.
Hope you enjoyed reading my answers and I tag anyone who wants to take part.
