My Favourite Christmas Films

One of my favourite things to start doing as soon as it hits December is watching Christmas films. They are some of my favourite films to watch as they always make me feel happy and really get me in the festive mood. We’ve already started watching some Christmas films so I thought I would write a post about my favourite ones:

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

How the Grinch Stole Christmas is based off a childrens book written by Dr Seuss. It is about The Grinch who lives at the top of a mountain above a town called Whosville. He hates Christmas and plans to ruin it for the town below who love Christmas.

This has been one of my favourite Christmas films for years. I was only 3 when it came out so I’ve pretty much grown up watching it at Christmas every single year. I still think it is one of the best Christmas films. Obviously there is a newer version currently out in cinemas that I do fancy watching however I have hear mixed reviews about it.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)

Christmas Vacation follows the run up to Christmas for the Griswald family. Clark Griswald wants to ensure their Christmas is perfect but of course things get in the way including family.

Before I met Joe I had never heard of any of the National Lampoon films but I love them now I’ve watched them all. My favourite one is definitely Christmas Vacation. It’s become a tradition now to watch this on Christmas Eve. It’s a really good films and I would definitely recommend it.

Jingle All The Way (1996)

Jingle All The Way is about a work obsessed Dad who promised his son that he would buy him the most popular of the season. He forgets to buy the toy until it is too late and they are all sold out. The film follows the crazy chase of this toy.

This is another film I had never watched before meeting Joe. It’s a really funny film and again one we really enjoy watching. Watching this, I can imagine how stressful it must feel trying to get the one toy your child wants more than anything.

Love Actually (2003)

Love Actually shows 9 different stories from a variety of perspectives that do interact with each other in some way. The stories are all about Love and shows obstacles different kinds of love face.

Not only is Love Actually one of my favourite Christmas films it is one on my favourite films in general. It is a really good rom com to watch either by yourself, with friends or with your other half. I love that it you get to see the run up to Christmas from different views and it covers all different types of love. Definitely a Christmas classic.

These a just a few of my favourite Christmas films, there are so many others I love but I thought I would just talk about a few (also I wasn’t exactly great at talking about a couple of films)
