Mustang Driving Experience

As long as I can remember I have loved classic ford mustangs. I don’t really know where the love came from but I think they are beautiful cars and I would love to own one someday. Joe has wondered though if I would actually like owning one as they’re obviously left hand drive with no power steering and completely different from cars I’ve drove before. So for my birthday he bought me a driving experience! I’ll be honest I was a bit shocked at first as I hadn’t really ever thought about doing one. Also he had told me before my birthday that he was unsure about what he had bought me but it was such a good idea.

The driving experience was booked through the company U Drive Cars and we drove down to Bicester, Oxfordshire to do it. Once we arrived we signed in and were given a SD card to put in the camera in the car as it recorded 360°video as well as sound. It was around £35 to purchase the video however it was definitely worth it as you could view it from different angles and using the programme that we were given we can drag the view as we are watching it.

After signing in we had a health and safety talk to make sure that we all understood what to do and to make sure there were no accidents. After that 2 or 3 people were called at a time to go and do their driving experience (there were 5 or 6 of us doing it that day). I was actually the only girl doing a driving experience, there was one boy my age as well but most of the other people were middle aged men. A couple of people at first thought Joe was there for the experience not me.

Once my name was called I was became so nervous but the instructor who was in the passenger seat was really nice and calmed my nerves. I was going a bit slow at first as I was getting used to the car but after the first couple laps I felt a lot more comfortable. The instructor encouraged me to go a bit faster each lap to get the most out of the experience. It was so good!

The only downside was how quick it went, Joe had purchased 8 laps for me however it literally felt like half that.  When I was told that that I would be pulling back into the bay area instead of continuing round I was actually confused as it hadn’t felt like I’d been round 8 laps.

The experience was honestly one of the best presents I have ever had. I really loved and enjoyed it.
