TV Shows I’ve Recently Watched Part 2

TV Shows I’ve Recently Watched Part 2

I previously wrote a post about TV shows I had recently watched. Since that post I’ve watched a few more so I thought I would talk about those ones.

Friday Night Dinner

Two siblings share their Friday night dinners at their parents home and, somehow, something always goes wrong (IMDB)

Pretty much everyone I know has watched this but for some reason Joe and I hadn’t. We had seen the odd episode here and there so we decided to give it a go. We loved it! I thought it was brilliant and was a proper British comedy series. There aren’t many episodes and they’re only about 20 minutes long so it is really easy to get through. We got through it so quick and were sad when it ended but I know season 6 is coming soon (I hope it is anyway) I would definitely recommend.

Derry girls

The personal exploits of a 16-year-old girl and her family and friends during the Troubles in the early 1990s.

Again we had seen the odd episode here and there but never paid that much attention. There is currently only 2 seasons and season 2 has only very recently finished. I didn’t think this would be Joe’s kind of series but he really enjoyed it as well. Again it is a like a classic British comedy series. I loved all the characters and at times they reminded me of my and my friends when we were their age (I sound so old right now)

Bonding

A New York City grad student moonlighting as a dominatrix enlists her gay BFF from high school to be her assistant (IMDB)

We found this while scrolling through Netflix one night and we were like what the hell is that about? The episodes are so short they’re literally 10-15 minutes and there are only 7 episodes.  What I really liked about the series is that is focused more on the main characters insecurities and their friendship rather than the dominatrix part. You did see part of her job pretty much every episode but it wasn’t for long; it was interesting seeing some of the kinks some people have. I feel like it is a bit different and not to everyone’s taste but it is worth a watch.

Jack Whitehall: Travels With My Father

Follows Jack Whitehall as he embarks on the trip of a lifetime with his father, Michael. The two set off on a journey across South East Asia to partake in a series of adventures, mishaps and escapades with two very different perspectives (IMDB)

While Joe was away for a stag do I spent a lot of time watching Netflix. I watched a lot of films but I did get a bit bored of that and wanted to watch a new series instead. As I was scrolling through, saw this and thought I would give it a go. I LOVE jack Whitehall; he’s so funny and the other series’ he has been in are some of my favourites. His dad is so posh, doesn’t smile a lot but that’s what makes the show funny; there is such a contrast between them. I really liked seeing the different places they travelled to as well.

Hope you enjoyed finding out the TV shows I’ve recently watched. Please recommend any other shows you think are worth watching!
